Heating Food
There is always a good reason to get together with family and friends to eat. Whether it be time for backyard cook-outs (or cook-offs), holiday family gatherings or just a quick meal at home, okPORK wants to make sure you are taking proper care and keeping yourself and your family healthy by correctly heating all pork dishes.
Here are some basic guidelines for heating pork.
Ham:
Thaw and remove from package. Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees. Place ham in roasting pan on a foil ring and add 1/4 inch of water. Cover with plastic wrap first and then foil. Heat to an internal temperature of 145 to150 degrees. For a ham with a more caramel crust leavew uncovered while heating.
Pork Loin:
Thaw and remove from package. Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees. Place loin in roasting pan and cover with plastic wrap and then foil. Heat to an internal temperature of 145-150 degrees. Do not overheat. This will cause dry, tough pork loin.
