Maintenance and Engineering: Employees with mechanical aptitude and trade skills work in various business areas, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities on our farms, feed mills, and in plants.


Farm Operations: You fit best working inside our barns taking care of our animals on sow, nursery, and finishers farms. Farm operations employees focus on animal care, livestock production, and management.


Environmental Resources: The environmental resource management team ensures that natural resources are protected. This team is responsible for soil and water conservation practices such as soil testing, managing effluent, lagoon testing, and ensuring all records are updated and accurate.


Swine Nutrition: The nutrition team analyzes factors such as age, weight, breed, and reproductive status to develop precise feeding regimens that optimize growth, performance, and overall profitability for swine producers.


Communications: A communication specialist in the swine industry serves as a link between swine producers, industry stakeholders, and the community. They are responsible for crafting and communicating clear, accurate, and compelling messages that promote understanding, engagement, and advocacy for the swine industry.

What is DESTINATION PORK?

A comprehensive curriculum designed to expose and interest high school students in pork industry jobs and career opportunities.

OPTION #1: Instructor-led experience designed for an Introduction to Agriculture course. Content and objectives are aligned with AFNR standards and focus on pork production.

OPTION #2": Student-led experience designed for an Independent Study. An online module for students to identify and initiate paths to a career in the pork industry. Content focuses on career exploration and individual competencies.
