Each December, Oklahoma pig farmers and community partners rally together to ensure no table goes empty during the holidays. Through the annual Give-A-Ham campaign, we’re turning the power of pork into thousands of meals, thousands of smiles, and countless moments of hope across our state.
This year, the Oklahoma Pork Council is leading a 22-day statewide giving effort—stretching from rural towns to urban neighborhoods—to deliver the warmth of a meal, the comfort of community, and the pride of knowing we’re feeding our own.
Each year on Giving Tuesday, the Oklahoma Pork Council Board of Directors President issues a statewide challenge—a call to action that kicks off the coordinated Give-A-Ham campaign. But the real difference is made through you: every individual, family, business, and community member who steps up to give locally.
Here’s how you can JOIn the #GIVEAHAM challenge

Take a photo or video of you challenging someone you know to #GiveAHam. Simply, hold the ham or pork product and share who you are donating your ham or pork product to then challenge another Oklahoman to #GiveAHam.

Post the photo or video on your social media pages. Be sure you tag the person you are challenging in your post so they will know about it. Also, if possible, tag the organization you are donating to. Be sure to include the hashtag of #GiveAHam and #OklahomaPork on your social media posts. Don’t forget to make your post public so we can see it!
Sample Script: I’m [name] and am from [city, Oklahoma]. This holiday season, I’m accepting the #GiveAHam challenge from [name] and donating this [ham or pork product] to [organization]. [Name], will you join me in this challenge and #GiveAHam?

Contact the person you plan to challenge before you post the video/photo to make sure they are able and willing to participate and keep the challenge going.
Be sure the person you challenged follows through, donates a ham or pork product and challenges someone else so the giving continues.

Donation
It’s best to find a local family, shelter, church, food pantry or charitable organization to give your ham or pork product. Should you need assistance with finding a location to give, visit BeANeighbor.org.

Don’t forget to use the hashtag #GiveAHam so all donations can be tracked toward our giving goal!

Tuesday, December 2 - Giving Tuesday / Launch of Give-A-Ham with 1,000 Free Pork Lunches in Enid

1,000 free pork to-go lunches will be served starting at 11 a.m. (first come, first served while supplies last)
Friday, December 5 - Social Media’s Choice Community 300 Free Pork Lunches

Monday, December 8 - Community 300 Free Pork Lunches in Woodward

Giving back isn’t just something Oklahoma pig farmers do during the holidays. It’s who they are all year long. From volunteering at food banks and donating pork products to supporting families in need, our farmers live out their commitment to community every day. The holiday season simply gives us another reason to do what we do best: feed people.
